The AI visibility trial that shows what all seven major engines say about your own buyer questions, and leads into daily tracking at the lowest flat price here, is Cituna's: 3 days with a card and no charge during the trial, your top 3 prompts checked daily on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, then $49 a month (Cituna's plans, read 22 October 2026). For a trial long enough to measure a rate rather than a snapshot, Trakkr gives 14 daily runs of 50 prompts on eight engines with a card, and Omnia and SE Ranking give 14 days without one (read 1 to 17 October 2026).
Cituna's trial is also the shortest on this page, and the arithmetic below says plainly what 3 days can and cannot show. AI engines change their answers from run to run, so the number that decides what a trial can tell you is not its length in days, but how many times each prompt runs on each engine.
Which AI visibility tools have a free trial in 2026?

What does each trial buy? The arithmetic
The number of answers a trial buys is prompts x engines x runs. For a daily tracker, runs equals the days in the trial; for a weekly tracker, it is the number of weekly refreshes that fall inside it. Where a vendor publishes a plan's allowance but not whether the trial gets all of it, we show the full plan's figure and say so.
| Trial | Days | Prompts | Engines | Cadence | Runs per prompt per engine | Answers in the trial | Card |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trakkr | 14 | 50 (plan) | 8 | Daily | 14 | 5,600 | Required |
| Omnia | 14 | 25 (plan) | 4 | Daily | 14 | 1,400 | Not required |
| SE Ranking | 14 | 20 a day | 5 | Daily | 14 | 1,400 | Not required |
| Gauge | 7 | 600 (plan) | 6 | Daily | 7 | 25,200 | Not stated |
| Goodie AI | 7 | 110 (plan) | 5 | Daily | 7 | 3,850 | Not stated |
| Promptwatch | 7 | 50 (plan) | 4 | Daily | 7 | 1,400 | Not stated |
| Profound | 7 | 50, preset | 3 | Daily | 7 | 1,050 | Not stated |
| Cituna | 3 | 3 | 7 | Daily | 3 | 63 | Required, no charge during the trial |
| LLM Pulse | 14 | 50 (plan) | 5 | Weekly | 2 | 500 | Payment method |
| LLMrefs | 7 | 500 (plan) | 11 | Weekly | 1 | 5,500 | Not stated |
| Gracker.ai | 7 | 100 (plan) | 3 | Weekly | 1 | 300 | Required |
"(plan)" marks the paid plan's prompt allowance; the vendor does not say whether the trial carries all of it.
Two things stand out. Answers alone mislead: LLMrefs' trial could return 5,500 answers, but each prompt runs once on each engine, so every one is a single draw. And the long daily trials, Trakkr, Omnia and SE Ranking, are the only ones that give each prompt 14 runs on each engine.
How many runs does a result need?
Ask ChatGPT the same question twice and it can name different brands. So the honest unit of AI visibility is a rate: in how many runs of a prompt did an engine name you? A rate measured from a few runs has a wide margin of error.
The table below gives the 95% range around a measured rate, using the Wilson score interval, a standard way to put error bars on a proportion. It is our arithmetic, and it treats runs as independent, which is the best case.
| Runs | Example result | The range it could really be | Margin |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Named in 1 of 1 | 21% to 100% | Too wide to use |
| 3 | Named in 2 of 3 | 21% to 94% | Too wide to use |
| 7 | Named in 4 of 7 | 25% to 84% | About 30 points either side |
| 14 | Named in 7 of 14 | 27% to 73% | About 23 points |
| 30 | Named in 15 of 30 | 33% to 67% | About 17 points |
| 90 | Named in 45 of 90 | 40% to 60% | About 10 points |
The practical reading:
- One to three runs show whether an engine can name you at all and which pages it reads. They cannot show how often it names you.
- Seven runs separate "almost always" from "almost never", and little else.
- Fourteen runs start to separate a strong position from a weak one.
- Thirty runs, a month of daily checks, narrow the range to about 17 points either side, enough to see a large change from one month to the next.
A real case shows why. In Cituna's tracking of one ChatGPT buyer prompt in October 2026, one brand was named in 16 of 17 runs from 1 to 7 October, a range of 73% to 99%, and in 0 of 26 runs from 9 October, a range of 0% to 13%. Those ranges do not overlap, so the change was real. On another prompt, a brand went from 4 of 12 runs to 3 of 20: 33% falling to 15% looks like a drop, but the ranges, 14% to 61% and 5% to 36%, overlap, so the counts cannot say the rate fell. A three-day trial would have caught neither.
Which trials are long enough to tell a real result from a single answer?
By the arithmetic above:
- Long enough to measure a rate on each prompt: Trakkr, Omnia and SE Ranking, with 14 daily runs per prompt per engine. Trakkr's covers the most prompts and engines, with a card; Omnia's and SE Ranking's need no card.
- Long enough to spot strong and weak positions: Goodie AI, Promptwatch and Profound, with 7 daily runs. Gauge's 7 days cover 600 prompts, at $599 a month after.
- Snapshots: Cituna's 3 days, and the weekly trackers' trials (LLM Pulse, LLMrefs, Gracker.ai), give one to three runs per prompt per engine. They show whether you are named and what the engines read, not how often.
A snapshot trial is not useless. Seven engines on your three most important prompts tell you quickly whether you are absent everywhere, which pages the engines cite instead, and whether the problem is one engine or all of them. That is what Cituna's trial is built to show. The rate comes from the first paid month: Starter's 30 daily runs of 10 prompts on seven engines.
How we chose
This is a desk comparison of published pages. Every trial term, price and allowance comes from the vendor's own pricing page on the date shown, and we did not sign up for or run these trials for this note. A tool is numbered if its pricing page states a trial length, or a standing free plan, and an allowance we could turn into answers. Cituna comes first because we build it; judge its entry by the same tests. The rest follow by runs per prompt per engine during the trial, most first, then answers in the trial, with trials whose cadence is not published after those that can be computed. "Not stated" means the vendor's page as we read it did not say either way.
The trials, one by one
1. Cituna (best for seven engines on your top prompts, fast)
Cituna's trial lasts 3 days and needs a card, with no charge during the trial and cancellation at any time (read 22 October 2026). It tracks your top 3 prompts daily on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode: 3 x 7 x 3, or 63 answers, with the pages each engine cited. Search Console, the MCP server and integrations are not part of the trial.
Starter then costs $49 a month, or $490 a year, for 1 brand and 10 prompts checked daily on all seven engines, 2,100 answers a month, with Search Console, API keys, MCP read tools and 30 AI-written article drafts a month. Pro is $119 for 30 prompts and Max $399 for 90.
What the trial can show: whether each of seven engines names you on your three most important questions, and which pages it reads instead.
What it cannot show: a rate. Three runs per prompt per engine leave a range of 21% to 94% around a 2-of-3 result.
Pick it if: you want to know fast which engines miss you, and you plan to measure properly in a paid month.
2. Trakkr (best for the most repeat runs in a trial)
Trakkr lists a 14-day trial of its Growth plan that asks for a card and converts to $100 a month unless you cancel (read 17 October 2026). Growth checks 50 prompts daily on eight engines: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI. If the trial carries Growth's full allowance, that is 50 x 8 x 14, or 5,600 answers, with 14 runs of every prompt on every engine.
What the trial can show: a mention rate per prompt and engine, within about 23 points, on the widest engine list among the 14-day trials.
What it cannot show: Google AI Mode or Microsoft Copilot, which Trakkr does not list.
Pick it if: you want to measure before paying and are comfortable entering a card. Set a reminder for day 13.
3. Omnia (best for 14 days without a card, in euros)
Omnia lists a 14-day trial with no card (read 1 October 2026). Its Growth plan, €79 a month, checks 25 prompts daily on four engines by default, with Claude, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot added on request and sentiment analysis included. If the trial carries Growth's allowance, that is 25 x 4 x 14, or 1,400 answers, with 14 runs per prompt per engine. Omnia also runs a free 40-prompt visibility checker that emails a one-off report.
What the trial can show: a rate on 25 prompts, with nothing to cancel.
What it cannot show: Grok, which Omnia does not track, and Claude unless you ask for it.
Pick it if: you want a measurable trial without a card and euro billing after it.
4. SE Ranking (best for 14 days without a card, inside an SEO suite)
SE Ranking's Core plan starts with a 14-day trial without a card, capped at 20 AI prompts a day (read 1 October 2026). Core checks prompts daily on five engines; SE Visible, its standalone AI product, names ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. At the cap, the trial buys 20 x 5 x 14, or 1,400 answers. Core then costs $129 a month for 100 prompts a day with 2,000 keywords, MCP and Search Console. SE Visible has its own 10-day trial and starts at $99 (25 September 2026).
What the trial can show: a rate on 20 prompts, beside rankings and audits you may already use.
What it cannot show: Claude, Grok or Copilot.
Pick it if: AI visibility will sit inside your SEO reporting.
5. Goodie AI (best for the most prompts in a 7-day trial)
Goodie AI lists a 7-day free trial on Core, which tracks 110 prompts daily on five engines: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and Microsoft Copilot (read 17 October 2026). If the trial carries Core's allowance, that is 110 x 5 x 7, or 3,850 answers, with 7 runs each. Card terms are not stated. Core then costs $354 a month, or $295 billed annually, with 50 optimizations a month through MCP.
What the trial can show: strong and weak positions across a large prompt set, Copilot included.
What it cannot show: Gemini, Claude or Grok, which Goodie's plans do not name.
Pick it if: you want breadth in one week and can budget for the paid plan after.
6. Promptwatch (best for four models you pick, daily)
Promptwatch offers a 7-day trial on Essential, which checks 50 prompts daily on four models you choose from OpenAI, Perplexity, Google, Claude, Gemini, Meta, DeepSeek and Grok, with MCP and API access (read 1 October 2026, plan re-read 8 October). That is 50 x 4 x 7, or 1,400 answers, inside Essential's 6,000 responses a month. Card terms are not stated. Essential then costs $95 a month.
What the trial can show: 7 runs per prompt on the four engines you care most about.
What it cannot show: more than four engines at once.
Pick it if: you already know which four engines matter.
7. Profound (best for a look at an enterprise tool)
Profound's free trial runs 50 prompts a day for 7 days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, from a set recommended for your industry that you cannot edit, with no history or exports (read 1 October 2026). That is 50 x 3 x 7, or 1,050 answers. After the trial, brands buy a custom Enterprise contract with no published price.
What the trial can show: how Profound's dashboard reads your category on three engines.
What it cannot show: your own buyer questions, Perplexity, Claude or Grok, or anything you can export.
Pick it if: you are evaluating Profound for an enterprise contract. Profound alternatives covers the self-serve options.
8. LLM Pulse (best for five engines at a low price)
LLM Pulse's 14-day trial covers its weekly plans and needs a payment method; daily plans bill from the start (read 13 October 2026). Weekly Starter, €49 a month before VAT, checks 50 prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews and Gemini. Fourteen days of weekly checks is two runs: 50 x 5 x 2, or 500 answers. MCP is included in the trial.
What the trial can show: two snapshots of 50 prompts on five engines, and LLM Pulse's reporting.
What it cannot show: a rate; for that, the €79 daily plan gives 30 runs a month.
Pick it if: you want to try the tool and its MCP server cheaply, and will measure on the daily plan.
9. Rankscale (best for choosing your own run cadence)
Rankscale offers a 7-day trial of Pro, which has 1,200 credits a month, up to 4,800 AI answers, on 17 or more engines (read 17 October 2026). Card terms are not stated, nor whether the trial carries all 1,200 credits. You set each prompt's cadence, from hourly to monthly (28 September 2026), and a ChatGPT run costs 0.25 credits while a Claude run costs 2 (9 October 2026).
That makes Rankscale the one trial where you can buy repeat runs directly: one prompt checked hourly on ChatGPT for 7 days is 168 runs for 42 credits. Runs an hour apart may be more alike than runs a day apart, so treat that rate as a floor on the variation, not the whole of it.
What the trial can show: a tight rate on a few prompts, if you spend credits on repeats.
What it cannot show: many prompts on many engines daily within the same credits.
Pick it if: you want to test one or two key prompts hard.
10. AthenaHQ (best for a standing free plan)
AthenaHQ has no trial; it has a free Essential tier with 300 credits, one per AI response, on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot, with unlimited members (read 1 October 2026). That is 300 answers: for example, 10 prompts on 5 engines, 6 times each. Starter then costs $295 a month for 3,600 credits on 11 models.
What the free plan can show: a small rate on a few prompts, with no deadline.
What it cannot show: Claude, Grok or AI Mode, which wait for Starter.
Pick it if: you want to measure slowly before a $295 decision. AthenaHQ alternatives lists cheaper paid plans.

- Cite42 gives $1 of free credit, which at $0.05 a ChatGPT check buys 20 checks of one prompt (its page dated 5 October 2026).
Three well-known tools offer a trial without stating its length: Peec AI (read 9 October 2026), Otterly.AI (read 7 October 2026) and Writesonic, which starts free without a card (read 1 October 2026). Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit has no free trial, per its help article (read 9 October 2026).
Which free trial is best for agencies?
An agency testing a tool for clients needs enough prompts to cover a pitch and enough runs to show a client something real. Trakkr's 14-day trial of 50 prompts on eight engines is the most measurable, and Goodie AI's 110 prompts suit a wide pitch in a week. For pitches without a subscription, Cite42's per-check pricing runs any prompt on demand. See the best AI visibility tools for agencies for client-ready reporting.
Which free trial is best on a small budget?
If the budget is zero, AthenaHQ's free tier and Mangools' free plan have no deadline, and Omnia and SE Ranking give 14 measurable days without a card. If you will pay after, Cituna's $49 Starter is the lowest flat monthly price here with Claude, Grok and both Google AI surfaces checked daily, and its first month gives each prompt 30 runs on seven engines. See the cheapest AI visibility tools and free AI visibility checkers.
Which free trial is best for enterprise teams?
Profound's trial shows its dashboard on three engines but not your own prompts, and Scrunch's 7-day Core trial is the self-serve way into a platform with an enterprise tier. For a measurable test before procurement, run a 14-day trial such as Trakkr's or SE Ranking's on the same prompts in parallel, so you have rates to compare with whatever the enterprise vendor shows in its demo.
Which free trial is best for a SaaS team?
SaaS buyers ask Claude and Perplexity, so check that the trial covers them: Cituna's and Trakkr's do, Promptwatch's can if you pick them, and Profound's trial, Omnia's default set and SE Ranking's do not include Claude. If you want the data in your own tools during the test, LLM Pulse's trial includes its MCP server; Cituna's MCP starts with the paid Starter plan. Server by server, see AI visibility MCP servers compared.
How do you get the most from a short trial?
- Pick prompts before you sign up. Choose the buyer questions that matter most, phrased the way buyers ask them. How to choose prompts to track has a method.
- Put the same prompts in every tool you test. Different tools sample engines differently; comparing them is only fair on the same questions.
- Read the answers, not only the score. In a short trial, which pages an engine cites is more reliable than how often it names you.
- Count runs, not days. Work out runs per prompt per engine from the table above before you judge a result.
- Set a reminder before the card is charged. Trakkr, Limy AI, Gracker.ai and Cituna take a card at sign-up, and LLM Pulse asks for a payment method.
Frequently asked questions
Which AI visibility tools have a free trial without a card?
Omnia, SE Ranking, Nightwatch and Keyword.com state 14 days with no card, GEOly's Basic trial needs no card, and Writesonic starts free without one (read 1 to 22 October 2026). AthenaHQ's free tier and Mangools' free plan need no card because they are standing free plans.
Which AI visibility tool has the longest free trial?
Seven tools state 14 days: Trakkr, Omnia, SE Ranking, Nightwatch, Limy AI, Keyword.com and LLM Pulse, whose 14 days cover weekly plans only (read 1 to 17 October 2026). Of those, Trakkr, Omnia and SE Ranking check daily, so they give the most repeat runs.
Does Cituna have a free trial?
Yes. Cituna's trial lasts 3 days, needs a card, and charges nothing during the trial. It tracks your top 3 prompts daily on seven engines, and paid plans start at $49 a month (read 22 October 2026).
Is a 7-day trial long enough to judge an AI visibility tool?
It is long enough to judge the tool and to spot prompts where you are almost always or almost never named. It is not long enough to measure a mention rate closely: 7 runs of a prompt leave a range of about 30 points either side of the result.
Does Profound have a free trial?
Yes. Profound's 7-day trial runs 50 preset prompts a day on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, with no history or exports, and then brands buy a custom Enterprise contract (read 1 October 2026).
Do Peec AI and Otterly.AI have free trials?
Both pricing pages offer a free trial without stating its length (Peec AI read 9 October, Otterly.AI read 7 October 2026). Peec AI's page also does not say whether a card is needed.
Why do AI visibility results change from day to day?
AI engines generate each answer fresh, and the pages they read and the brands they name can differ between runs of the same question. That is why a single answer is one draw, and why a rate over many runs is the measure that holds.
