The best Rankscale alternatives are Cituna, for a fixed set of buyer prompts checked daily on seven engines with Claude, Grok and Search Console at $39 a month, and Promptwatch, for 50 daily prompts with an API, MCP and Search Console at $95. LLMrefs is the pick for sheer prompt volume at $79, and AthenaHQ for the longest engine list. Rankscale itself stays the cheapest way in, at $20, and the most flexible on engines and schedules.
To see which of your buyer questions the answer engines already answer with your site, start a Cituna free trial; it runs each prompt daily on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode.
Every price and feature below was read from the vendor's own pages on 25 September 2026. Where a page does not say something, the table says "not published".
Where Rankscale is strong
Rankscale sells credits, not prompts. Its Essentials plan costs $20 a month for 120 credits, and one check of ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or Google AI Mode uses a quarter of a credit, which Rankscale puts at up to 480 answers a month. Search terms are unlimited to create; only running them spends credits.
That model buys flexibility no fixed plan matches. Its FAQ says all of its 17 or more engines are available on every plan, from ChatGPT, AI Overviews and AI Mode to Claude, DeepSeek, Mistral, Grok and Copilot, and its calculator also lists Perplexity's Sonar models by API. Each search term can run hourly, daily, weekly or monthly. Essentials already includes citation analysis, an analysis of the sources box shown beside AI answers, query fan-out data, competitor benchmarking and an MCP server, and the $99 Pro plan comes with a seven-day free trial.
Why teams look elsewhere
- Credits drain unevenly. A Claude check costs two credits, eight times a ChatGPT check, and DeepSeek costs one. Checking 50 prompts daily on four quarter-credit engines needs about 1,500 credits a month, more than Pro's 1,200.
- Exports and seats start on Pro. CSV and Sheets exports, unlimited team seats, sentiment analysis and the Data Studio connector are not on Essentials.
- The REST API starts at $385. Essentials and Pro get MCP; REST API access begins on Growth.
- No Search Console on the pricing page. Joining AI answers to your Google clicks is not listed on any plan.
The ranking criteria
Each alternative's cheapest self-serve plan was checked against five yes-or-no questions drawn from those gaps:
- Is a fixed number of prompts checked daily, rather than a credit balance that engines spend at different rates?
- Are Claude and Grok on the entry plan at no extra cost per check?
- Does the AI tracker's own plan connect Google Search Console? (A separate tool from the same company does not count.)
- Is a REST API included on the entry plan?
- Is a CSV or spreadsheet export listed on the entry plan?
Tools are ordered by how many questions they answer yes, with ties broken by the lower monthly entry price. To make the list, a tool needs at least two yes answers and a published self-serve monthly price. Seven tools pass. LLM Pulse, SE Visible and Ahrefs Brand Radar answer yes once each and are left out: SE Visible checks 200 prompts daily for $99, but its page offers an API and CSV export without saying which plans include them. The Ahrefs Brand Radar alternatives note covers Ahrefs.
Cituna and Promptwatch both answer yes to four questions, and Cituna ranks first on price. Neither publishes a CSV export on its pricing page. The questions reward fixed daily data; if you want the most engines for the fewest dollars, Rankscale still wins that, and the table shows it.

"Not published" means the vendor's pages do not say so; the tool may still offer it.
The seven alternatives
1. Cituna: a fixed daily prompt set on seven engines for $39
Cituna's $39 Starter runs 10 buyer prompts every day on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, with no per-engine pricing, so a Claude answer costs the same as a ChatGPT one. Search Console is on every plan, and read access to the REST API and MCP server is included, so the engine answers, the sources they cite and your Google clicks can be pulled side by side. It answers yes to four of the five questions, at less than half Promptwatch's price.
Best for: teams that want predictable daily data on seven engines, Claude and Grok included, next to Search Console.
Where it falls short: 10 prompts on Starter, against up to 480 Rankscale answers you can spread however you like; no Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek or Mistral; no CSV export on the pricing page; write actions over the API and MCP need Pro at $119; and the three-day trial needs a card.
The first scan runs free without a card. Start a Cituna free trial to open the full report on your brand.
2. Promptwatch: 50 daily prompts with an API and MCP
Promptwatch's $95 Essential plan checks 50 prompts daily on four models you choose, within 6,000 responses a month, and includes both MCP and API access. Its model table lists ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Claude, Gemini, Meta's Llama, DeepSeek and Grok, plus OpenCode and Claude Code, and Google Search Console appears among its integrations. A seven-day free trial is offered.
Best for: teams that want five times Cituna's prompt count with an API from the first plan.
Where it falls short: four models at a time on every listed plan, no Copilot, no AEO articles on Essential, and Agent Analytics starts on Professional at $245. Promptwatch's pricing.
3. LLMrefs: 500 prompts, every engine, one price
LLMrefs charges $79 a month, marked as a limited-time price, for 500 prompts on every engine it tracks with no extra fees: ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok, Copilot, Meta and DeepSeek. You add keywords and it generates the prompts. Projects and team members are unlimited, CSV export and API access are included, geo-targeting covers more than 50 countries, and there is a seven-day free trial.
Best for: agencies and SEO teams that want Rankscale's engine breadth without counting credits.
Where it falls short: its FAQ says every keyword is refreshed at least once a week, not daily; Search Console and MCP are not on the pricing page; and prompts come from keywords rather than the exact questions you write. LLMrefs' pricing.
4. AthenaHQ: eleven engines with Search Console
AthenaHQ's $295 Starter covers 11 models, including Claude, Grok, Copilot, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral, connects GA4 and Search Console, and exports to CSV. It adds on-page and off-page actions and a content optimization agent. A free Essential tier gives $25 of credit on five engines.
Best for: brands that want Rankscale's engine breadth plus Search Console and will pay for it.
Where it falls short: it is also credit-based, one credit per AI response, so it shares Rankscale's trade-off at nearly 15 times the entry price; the API is a paid add-on at an unpublished price; and check frequency is not stated. AthenaHQ's plans, with more in the AthenaHQ alternatives note.
5. Otterly.AI: a fixed daily plan for $29
Otterly's Lite plan costs $29 a month, or $25 billed annually, for 15 prompts checked daily on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. Link citation analysis, detailed reports with export, and unlimited team members are included, and there is a free trial.
Best for: small teams moving from Rankscale Essentials that want fixed daily checks and exports for a few dollars more.
Where it falls short: 15 prompts, Claude, AI Mode and Gemini sold as add-ons, no Grok, and API and MCP only from Standard at $189. Otterly.AI's pricing.
6. AIclicks: three engines of your choice, daily
AIclicks' $59 Starter checks 30 prompts daily on three models chosen from 11, among them Claude, Grok, Copilot, DeepSeek and Mistral, for one website on its plan card (its comparison table says three). It includes five AI-optimized articles a month, and the three-day trial on Starter and Pro needs no card.
Best for: teams that care about two or three specific engines and want some content written for them.
Where it falls short: three engines on the entry plan against Rankscale's 17 or more; Search Console is not on the pricing page; and GA4, API and MCP start on Pro at $189. AIclicks' pricing.
7. Peec AI: 50 daily prompts on three models, with exports
Peec AI's $95 Starter checks 50 prompts daily on three models chosen from ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI, with unlimited users, an MCP server and CSV exports. Perplexity is a $30-a-month add-on.
Best for: teams that want Rankscale-style flexibility on a few engines, with exports from the first plan.
Where it falls short: Claude, Grok and Perplexity are not in the Starter list (Perplexity is a paid add-on, Claude and Grok Enterprise only), the API starts on Pro at $245, and Search Console is not listed. Peec AI's pricing, with more in the Peec AI alternatives note.
Which to choose
- Seven engines checked daily, with Search Console, for the lowest fixed price: Cituna.
- An API and MCP on the first plan, with 50 prompts: Promptwatch.
- Hundreds of prompts on every engine, weekly: LLMrefs.
- Eleven engines plus GA4 and Search Console: AthenaHQ.
- The cheapest fixed daily plan, Copilot included: Otterly.AI.
- Three engines you pick, with articles included: AIclicks.
- Three engines daily with MCP and CSV exports from the first plan: Peec AI.
- Stay with Rankscale if you want the lowest entry price, engines none of these list together (Mistral, Copilot and Perplexity's Sonar models), hourly schedules, or MCP at $20. Credits reward teams that check a few engines often and many engines rarely.
