Scrunch is the one of the two you can buy from a price list: its Core plan costs $250 a month for 125 prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Microsoft Copilot, with a 7-day trial that its page says needs no card. Profound sells brands only a free 7-day trial and a custom-priced Enterprise plan, so it fits a team that will go through sales for up to nine engines, an API, SSO and SOC 2 from the first paid plan. At the enterprise end the two differ by what they add to tracking: Scrunch's AXP serves AI agents a version of your site, and Profound's AI Marketer agents research, write and report. Scrunch's pricing was read on 28 and 29 September 2026 and Profound's on 29 September 2026.
If neither enterprise contract fits and you want Claude, Grok and Gemini checked every day at a published price, Cituna tracks seven AI engines for your brand daily, with Search Console built in, and writes the fix for each gap it finds, from $39 a month (checked 29 September 2026). If you are replacing one of the two, Scrunch AI alternatives and Profound alternatives list the options with published prices.

How the pricing differs
Scrunch publishes a number and Profound does not, which makes the two hard to compare dollar for dollar. Scrunch Core's $250 buys 125 prompts on four engines, but the browser page does not say whether that is a monthly or annual-billed figure. The copy Scrunch serves to AI crawlers at the same address is different again: a Starter plan at $250 a month billed annually or $300 month to month, with 350 prompts and three users, and a Growth plan at $417 or $500. When engines quote Scrunch at $300, that crawler copy is the likely source; our crawler test of nine pricing pages found the same split.
Profound removed its self-serve brand plans in mid-September 2026. Before then, brands could buy Starter at $99 a month or Growth at $399; on 29 September its pricing page showed brands only the trial and Enterprise. AI engines and some comparison pages still quote the $99 figure, which is now the agency entry plan. Because Profound publishes no Enterprise figure, no honest saving can be worked out between the two.
Who Scrunch fits
Scrunch fits a team that wants to start tracking on a self-serve plan and grow into an enterprise plan later. Core covers ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Microsoft Copilot, and pairs tracking with five site audits, one page optimization a month and basic content generation, for five users.
Its distinctive product is AXP, the Agent Experience Platform on Enterprise, which serves AI agents a version of your site built for them. If how AI crawlers read your pages is the problem you are solving, that matters more than any engine count; why server-rendered HTML matters to AI crawlers explains the underlying issue.
Where it falls short: Gemini, Claude, Grok, Google AI Mode, the API and MCP all sit on Enterprise; the cadence and Search Console are not published; and the two pricing views disagree. Sitecore's acquisition is the other open question. If you are not a Sitecore customer, ask how plans and contract terms will change before signing a long contract.
Who Profound fits
Profound fits a company that buys through procurement and wants the paperwork on the page. Enterprise lists up to nine engines checked daily, an API, CSV and JSON exports, all-time history, unlimited seats, SSO/SAML and SOC 2 compliance. Its AI Marketer agents, sold as credits on Enterprise, research, write and report, which is Profound's answer to Scrunch's AXP: one acts on your content, the other on how agents receive your site.
Its engine list also differs. Profound adds DeepSeek and Exa Search, which Scrunch does not list; Scrunch adds Grok and Meta AI, which Profound does not.
Where it falls short: no brand price, a trial of three fixed engines with prompts you cannot customise and no exports, no Grok on any plan, and no published Search Console or MCP. Agencies pay per client: $99 a month plus $399 for each full client workspace, so five clients come to $2,094 a month.
Where the two overlap
Both sell to enterprise marketing teams and agencies, and at the top tier both list nine engines, with ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode on both lists. Both keep their API for Enterprise, and neither publishes a Search Console integration. Buyers hear Profound more often: in our scans of 22 buyer questions on seven AI engines on 28 September 2026, Profound was named in 72 of 153 answers and Scrunch in 33.
Which should you pick?
You want a published price and a trial without a card: Scrunch, Core at $250 a month.
You need Perplexity and Copilot below Enterprise: Scrunch Core includes both. Profound's trial covers neither.
You need Grok or Meta AI: Scrunch, on Enterprise. Profound lists neither.
You need DeepSeek or Exa Search: Profound, on Enterprise.
Your security review needs SSO and SOC 2 in writing: Profound publishes both on its pricing page; ask Scrunch for its terms.
You want agents that produce content: Profound's AI Marketer. You want to change what AI agents are served from your site: Scrunch's AXP.
You run an agency: Profound publishes its per-client price ($99 plus $399 per client); Scrunch lists agency features without prices.
You want Claude, Grok and Gemini daily at a published price, with Search Console. Neither sells that at a published price. Scrunch keeps Gemini, Claude and Grok for Enterprise, and Profound lists no Grok on any plan. Cituna checks seven AI engines for your brand every day and writes the fix for each gap, from $39 a month; Cituna vs Profound sets the two side by side.
If neither fits, compare the next options in Scrunch AI alternatives or Profound alternatives, each with entry prices and engines from the vendors' own pages. For Profound against a self-serve rival, see Profound vs Peec AI.
Frequently asked questions
Is Scrunch cheaper than Profound?
Scrunch is the only one of the two with a brand price on the page: Core at $250 a month (checked 29 September 2026). Profound's brand Enterprise plan is custom-priced, so the two cannot be compared on price until Profound quotes you.
Does Profound still have a $99 plan?
Not for brands. Profound's brand view showed a free trial and a custom Enterprise plan on 29 September 2026. Its $99 plan is Agency Growth, for 10 pitch workspaces, with each full client workspace at $399 a month.
Who owns Scrunch now?
Sitecore. A Sitecore press release dated 3 June 2026 says it acquired Scrunch. Scrunch's own pages did not mention Sitecore when we checked on 29 September 2026.
