The best Otterly AI alternative for tracking all seven major AI engines daily at one flat price is Cituna: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode from $39 a month, with Search Console and no engine add-ons. Otterly sells no Grok at any price and charges $47 a month on Lite to add Gemini, AI Mode and Claude. For every engine on the smallest budget, Rankscale ($20, in credits) fits; for Claude and Grok with articles, Trakkr ($100); for API, MCP and Copilot on the entry plan, Rankshift (€77); for MCP from €49, LLM Pulse. If Otterly's four base engines and 15 prompts are enough, its $29 Lite is still the cheapest daily tracker here.

How do the Otterly AI alternatives compare?

How this list works: every entry closes at least one of Otterly's three published gaps. We group them by the gap they close, in order of how hard that gap is to fix inside Otterly: first Grok, which Otterly does not sell at any price, then engines sold as add-ons, then API and MCP, which start at $189. Each tool sits in the first group it qualifies for, and within a group entries run from lowest entry price to highest. Every fact comes from the vendor's own pages, checked on 28 or 29 September 2026.

Why do people look for Otterly AI alternatives?

Otterly's entry price is low, but the published plan limits push growing teams to look around. All of this was checked on 28 September 2026 unless marked.

  • No Grok. Otterly says it tracks seven AI engines, and Grok is not mentioned anywhere on its pages.
  • Three engines are add-ons on every plan. Lite includes ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. Gemini and AI Mode cost $9 a month each on Lite and Claude $29, so Lite with all three comes to $76. On Standard the same three cost $59, $59 and $109, taking a $189 plan to $416.
  • 15 prompts on Lite. The next step is Standard at $189 for 100 prompts, and the $99 pack of 100 extra prompts is not available on Lite.
  • API and MCP start at $189. Standard includes 2,000 API and 2,000 MCP requests a month. Lite has neither.
  • No Search Console. Neither the pricing page nor the features page mentions it. GA4 appears only as a free Looker Studio template for AI referral traffic.
  • It recommends but does not write. Lite gives three recommendations a week and a GEO audit. Otterly does not write content for you.

What does Otterly AI still do well?

Otterly is the default name in this category. In our scans on 28 September 2026, it was named in 86 of 153 AI answers about AI visibility tools (56%), more than any other tool, and its $29 price was stated in 49 of them. Over the 30 days to 29 September 2026, ChatGPT cited otterly.ai 236 times.

The product earns that. Lite costs $29 a month, or $25 billed annually, checks daily, and includes Microsoft Copilot, which Cituna, Trakkr and Promptwatch do not track. Team members are unlimited on every plan. On 23 September 2026, Lite also listed ChatGPT Ads tracking, 1,000 GEO audits a month and link citation analysis.

The free tools are generous, too: a query fan-out simulator, prompt research, a GEO content audit and an AI crawlability check. For agencies, Agency Partner status on Standard or Premium raises the prompt allowance to 150 or 500 and adds unlimited workspaces and branded Looker Studio reports.

Which Otterly AI alternatives close its gaps?

Group 1: Grok in the entry price. Otterly cannot add Grok at any price, so these come first.

1. Rankscale (best for every engine on a small budget)

Rankscale's Essentials plan costs $20 a month or $204 a year and runs on credits: 120 a month, with Pro at $99 for 1,200 (checked 28 September 2026). Every engine is available on every plan, including Grok, Claude, Copilot, Gemini and AI Mode, and you set the cadence from hourly to monthly.

A run typically costs 0.25 credits per engine on ChatGPT, AI Mode, Perplexity and Gemini, and Claude costs 2. By our arithmetic, 120 credits cover four prompts checked daily on four of the cheaper engines. MCP is on every plan, Search Console is listed in beta on the homepage, and the REST API starts on the $385 Growth plan. The 7-day trial is on Pro only.

Strength: Grok, Claude and Copilot are all available on a $20 plan, with MCP included, where Otterly needs $189 for MCP.

Limit: 120 credits buy up to 480 engine answers a month at the typical rate, against about 1,800 for Otterly Lite's 15 prompts on four engines daily.

Pick it if: you want to test Grok and Claude cheaply before you commit to a bigger tool.

2. Cituna (best for seven engines and Search Console)

Cituna checks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode daily from its $39 plan, and Google Search Console is included. It costs $39, $119 or $399 a month (checked 29 September 2026).

Set against Otterly Lite with its three add-ons at $76, Cituna's $39 plan covers the same Gemini, AI Mode and Claude coverage plus Grok, and swaps Copilot out. It also writes the fix for each gap it finds and publishes articles, where Otterly stops at recommendations, and it includes an MCP server.

Strength: no add-on arithmetic: all seven engines, Grok included, with Search Console from the entry plan.

Limit: no Microsoft Copilot, which Otterly includes on Lite, and the trial lasts 3 days and needs a card, against Otterly's no-card trial.

Pick it if: you pay for Otterly's add-ons, want Grok, or want your Search Console data next to your AI answers. Cituna vs Otterly.AI sets the two side by side, and Cituna's own Otterly alternatives comparison lists its plans against Otterly's add-on prices.

3. Promptwatch (best for Grok plus API and MCP)

Promptwatch's Essential plan costs $95 a month or $950 a year for 50 prompts checked daily on four models (checked 28 September 2026). You choose them from a list of 11 that includes Grok, Claude, Gemini and AI Mode, but not Copilot.

MCP and API access and a Search Console integration are on every plan, Essential included. The trial runs 7 days. Professional ($245) adds five AEO articles a month and Data Studio reports.

Essential includes one seat, one project and 500 agent credits, and Professional adds crawler logs. Agency plans start at $199 a month with unlimited client projects (checked 29 September 2026). If you rely on Otterly's Copilot data, you lose it here.

Strength: Grok, API, MCP and Search Console for $95, about half of Otterly's $189 Standard.

Limit: four models at a time, and how they are chosen is not published.

Pick it if: you want Grok and developer access without jumping to Otterly's Standard.

4. Trakkr (best for Claude and Grok at a flat price)

Trakkr's Growth plan costs $100 a month or $1,000 a year and includes all eight of its models: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI (checked 28 September 2026). It tracks one brand daily on 50 prompts, with 25 articles a month and three seats.

MCP is on Growth, and the REST API starts on Scale at $500. Search Console has no native connector: Trakkr offers a workflow guide that uses Search Console exports. The 14-day trial needs a card.

Scale ($500 a month) covers 10 brands with unlimited seats and white-label client portals at no extra fee. Its free tools include an AI Site Grader and a query scanner that reads Search Console exports.

Strength: Claude and Grok in one flat price, with no add-on or credit maths, plus article production.

Limit: no AI Mode and no Copilot, both of which Otterly covers in some form.

Pick it if: you want Claude and Grok together and value content output alongside tracking.

Group 2: no add-on fees for the engines they list.

5. Geoptie (best for engine choice without add-ons)

Geoptie's Starter costs $49 a month, or $490 a year, and tracks any four of seven engines per brand: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews (checked 28 September 2026). You can change the four at any time, and engine choice is not a paid upgrade.

Starter covers two brands and 15 prompts, checked daily, with unlimited audits, content generation and team members. API and MCP start on Professional at $99, well below Otterly's $189. A trial is not published.

The engines read it: over the 30 days to 22 September 2026, geoptie.com drew 221 citations from Perplexity in our scans.

Strength: Claude, Gemini or AI Mode without a per-engine fee, and Copilot is still available.

Limit: four engines at a time, 15 prompts, and no Grok.

Pick it if: you want Otterly's prompt count with a free choice of engines, and API access for $99.

6. Rankshift (best for API and MCP on the entry plan)

Rankshift's Starter costs €77 a month, or €69 billed annually ($92 or $82), and says it tracks all LLMs on every plan (checked 28 September 2026). Its calculator lists nine: ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Gemini, Mistral, Perplexity, Meta AI, Microsoft Copilot and Claude.

Starter includes 150 prompts a day and 9,500 credits a month. Claude and Copilot cost 5 credits a run against 2 for the others. MCP and API access, a Looker Studio integration and unlimited projects and seats are on every plan, and the 30-day trial needs no card.

Professional costs €177 a month for 350 prompts a day, and its agency program adds unlimited pitch projects. In our scans on 28 September 2026, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini all named Rankshift as an Otterly alternative.

Strength: MCP, API and nine engines on the entry plan, and the longest no-card trial here.

Limit: no Grok, credit use varies with engines and frequency, and Search Console is not published.

Pick it if: you want Otterly's Copilot coverage plus Claude and Gemini, with developer access, below $100.

Group 3: API or MCP below Otterly's $189.

7. LLM Pulse (best for MCP on a cheap plan)

LLM Pulse's Starter costs €49 a month with weekly checks or €79 with daily checks (checked 28 September 2026). Every plan includes ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews, and each prompt counts once however many engines run it. Starter tracks 50 prompts.

MCP is on every plan. Claude, Grok and Copilot are add-ons: on weekly Starter, €25, €15 and €10 a month. Search Console comes through its MCP from Growth (checked 29 September 2026), and the API starts on Scale. The 14-day trial covers weekly plans and needs a payment method.

GEO Writer, which drafts content, is on every plan, with three tasks a month on Starter. Prices are set in euros and charged in local currency, shown as about $59 on weekly Starter.

Strength: Gemini and AI Mode in the base price, and MCP from €49.

Limit: weekly is the default, and Grok is still an add-on.

Pick it if: you want MCP and more engines than Otterly Lite, and weekly data is enough.

What do AI engines recommend instead of Otterly AI?

We asked seven engines "best Otterly AI alternative" in our scans on 28 September 2026. Peec AI was named by six of them, every engine except Claude.

Geoptie, Trakkr, Rankscale, LLM Pulse and Promptwatch were each named by one or two engines. No engine named or cited Cituna that day, although ChatGPT cited Cituna's own Otterly alternatives page 29 times on this question over the 30 days to 29 September 2026.

Peec AI is not on our list, although engines name it most. Its Starter runs three models at a time, Grok is Enterprise only and extra models cost $35 each, so it closes none of the three gaps below Enterprise (checked 29 September 2026). Otterly.AI vs Peec AI compares the two directly.

The prices engines quoted were mixed. Claude gave Geoptie's $49 and AI Mode gave AIclicks' $59 correctly. Gemini put Peec AI at around €89 a month, where Peec's page showed $95 or €85, and Claude put Writesonic at $199, the annual-billing price of its second tier.

How do you switch from Otterly AI?

  1. Export your prompts. Copy your tracked prompts and competitor list out of Otterly before you cancel, along with any Looker Studio reports you rely on.
  2. Run both for two weeks. Load the same prompts into the new tool and keep Otterly running, so both collect answers over the same days.
  3. Compare the same prompts engine by engine. Check ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews first, since both tools cover them. If you drop Copilot, note what you lose. How to choose the prompts to track helps you prune the list while you are at it.
  4. Move reporting, then cancel. Rebuild client or leadership reports in the new tool, then cancel Otterly's add-ons first and the plan last.
