For Google AI Mode checked every day as its own result, kept apart from AI Overviews, next to ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Grok and with Search Console included, the best AI Mode rank tracker is Cituna at $39 a month, the lowest price among the fifteen tools here that is not metered in credits and includes AI Mode daily without an add-on or an engine slot. On credits, Keyword.com ($9.80) and Rankscale ($20) cost less for a few checks; Otterly.AI reaches AI Mode at $38 with a $9 add-on; Geoptie ($49) lets you pick it as one of four engines in 123 markets; Mangools ($49) checks 500 prompts weekly; and SE Visible gives 200 daily prompts for $99.
AI Mode is not AI Overviews with a different label. It is a separate, conversational search mode where people ask longer questions and follow up, and Google says the two may use different models and show different links. Plenty of trackers still sell "Google AI" as one line, so each entry below says whether AI Mode is on the plan by name, what it costs to add and how often it is checked. Facts were read from each vendor's own pages on 23, 28 or 29 September 2026, and Rankability's tracker pages on 16 October 2026.
Cituna asks AI Mode your buyers' questions every day, stores the answer apart from AI Overviews with the brands named, your position and the pages cited, and joins it with your Search Console data. Start tracking your brand in Google AI Mode with Cituna, from $39 a month.

How we chose these AI Mode trackers
A tool made the list when its own pages showed three things: Google AI Mode by name, as opposed to "Google AI" or Gemini; a published price at which a brand can track it (included, as a chosen engine, or as a priced add-on); and a published check frequency. Tools that missed a test are in the section after the list, with the reason.
The fifteen are ordered by the lowest published monthly price at which AI Mode is tracked, add-ons counted. Month-to-month rates are used where shown and the annual rate where it is the only one, euro prices sit where the vendor's dollar figure or the exchange rate puts them, and ties go alphabetically. Vendor facts were read on 23, 28 or 29 September 2026; Rankability's plan list comes from its tracker pages, read on 16 October 2026. Citation figures come from Cituna's scans of seven engines in the 30 days to 22 September 2026, published in what Google AI Overviews and AI Mode cite.
What we weighed for AI Mode in particular:
- Named, or bundled? "Google AI" can mean AI Overviews only. We counted AI Mode only where the vendor names it.
- Kept apart from AI Overviews? Search Console's Generative AI report merges the two surfaces. A tracker that stores AI Mode as its own result is the only way to see where they differ.
- What happens on a follow-up? AI Mode is built for follow-up questions. The pricing pages we read describe each tracked prompt as a single question; none says it runs a second turn. If your buyers' journey runs through follow-ups, track the follow-up as its own prompt, and ask the vendor how its check is run.
- Which country? AI Mode answers vary by location. Where a vendor publishes its market coverage we say so; where it does not, ask before you buy.

What makes AI Mode different to track
AI Mode answers a question by splitting it into subtopics and searching for each at once, a technique Google calls query fan-out, then writing one response with links. Google says that when its confidence in a response is not high enough, it may show web links instead. That has a tracking consequence: some checks return no AI answer at all. In Cituna's scans, AI Mode produced 248 answers in the 30 days to 22 September 2026, against 523 for AI Overviews on the same questions, the fewest of the seven engines. A tracker should record "no answer" as its own outcome rather than as "not mentioned".
The two Google surfaces read many of the same sites but rank them differently. In those scans, 91.6% of the citations to AI Mode's 100 most-cited target sites went to sites AI Overviews also cited, yet beyond YouTube and Reddit their top-five lists had nothing in common. AI Mode's five most-cited hosts were youtube.com (159 citations), reddit.com (94), geoptie.com (52), semrush.com (47) and otterly.ai (45). Video and community pages took 37.3% of the citations to its top 100 target sites, against an average of 5.8% for the five non-Google engines, so a tracker that stores every cited URL, YouTube and Reddit included, shows you sources a mention count hides.
Scale is the reason to measure it at all. On 19 May 2026 Google said AI Mode had passed one billion monthly users and made Gemini 3.5 Flash its default model worldwide. Search Console's Generative AI report counts AI Mode impressions by page, country, device and date, but it merges them with AI Overviews and lists no queries or clicks. How to appear in Google AI Mode covers what Google says helps a page get chosen.
The 15 AI Mode rank trackers, by price
1. Keyword.com (best for a few AI Mode checks under $10)
Keyword.com's AI Visibility plan costs $9.80 a month, or $7.83 billed annually, for 20 credits (read 28 September 2026). An AI Mode check costs 0.25 credits, the same as an AI Overviews check, so you can run Google's two surfaces side by side for the price of one: 20 credits buy 80 checks a month, about 40 per surface. Updates run weekly, daily or monthly. Search Console, GA4 and an MCP server come with it, and the 14-day trial needs no card.
Where it falls short: 80 checks a month covers two or three prompts daily on one surface, so real tracking needs a larger credit tier, and Grok is not offered.
2. Rankscale (best for AI Mode on your own schedule)
Rankscale's Essentials plan costs $20 a month, or $204 a year, for 120 credits, and every engine it supports is on every plan (read 28 September 2026). Its pricing page names Google AI Mode among those engines, and Rankscale publishes a Google AI Mode tracking page. You set the cadence per project, from hourly to monthly. A typical run costs 0.25 credits per engine. MCP is on every plan, and Search Console and GA4 connect in beta.
An AI Mode run costs 0.25 credits, so 120 credits buy about 480 AI Mode answers a month. Where it falls short: the seven-day trial covers only the $99 Pro plan.
3. Otterly.AI (best for Copilot users adding AI Mode)
Otterly.AI's Lite plan costs $29 a month, or $25 billed annually, for 15 prompts checked daily on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Microsoft Copilot (read 28 September 2026). AI Mode is a $9 monthly add-on on Lite, which puts daily AI Mode tracking at $38; on Standard the same add-on costs $59. Gemini is another $9 and Claude $29, and Grok is not mentioned. The trial runs seven or 14 days without a card, depending on which of its pages you read. otterly.ai was the fifth most-cited host in AI Mode's answers in our scans, with 45 citations.
Where it falls short: AI Mode is not in the base plan, 15 prompts is a small set, and API and MCP start on Standard at $189.
4. Cituna (best for AI Mode and AI Overviews kept apart, with Search Console)
Cituna costs $39, $119 or $399 a month, and every plan checks Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews daily as two separate results, next to ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Grok, with Google Search Console built in (read 29 September 2026). For each AI Mode answer it keeps the brands named, your position when named and every page cited, so you can see which roundup, video or thread AI Mode used for a prompt you lost, and whether AI Overviews used the same one.
That separation is the point for AI Mode: Search Console tells you how often your pages appeared in Google's AI features combined, and Cituna tells you, per question, which of the two named you and who they named instead. It then writes the fix for each gap it finds and can publish the article; its API and MCP are read-only below the $119 Pro plan.
Where it falls short: 10 prompts on the $39 Starter, no Microsoft Copilot, and the three-day trial needs a card.
Track AI Mode and AI Overviews apart, with five more engines, in Cituna, from $39 a month with Search Console included.
5. Geoptie (best for AI Mode in many markets)
Geoptie's Starter costs $49 month to month, or $41 a month billed annually, for 15 prompts and two brands (read 28 September 2026). Each brand tracks any four of seven engines, AI Mode and AI Overviews among them, changeable at any time, so a Google-heavy team can spend two slots on Google's surfaces. Checks run daily across 123 markets, the widest published market list here, which suits an engine whose answers change by location. geoptie.com was the third most-cited host in AI Mode's answers in our scans, with 52 citations.
Where it falls short: a prompt tracked in three countries uses three of the 15, Grok is not offered, and API and MCP start on Professional at $99.
6. Mangools AI Search Watcher (best for many AI Mode prompts, checked weekly)
Mangools' AI Search Watcher Pro costs $49 a month, or $34.90 a month billed annually, for 500 prompts (read 29 September 2026). Its FAQ names eight engines, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews among them, with ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Mistral and Llama. Each update runs every prompt twice, and updates are weekly on every plan. Five hundred prompts leaves room to track the follow-up questions buyers ask in AI Mode as prompts of their own. API and MCP access come on every plan, and a free plan covers 5 prompts, though the page we read did not say which engines it runs.
Where it falls short: weekly data only, no Perplexity or Copilot, and Search Console is not published.
7. Ahrefs Brand Radar (best for AI Mode in a ready-made prompt index)
Ahrefs Brand Radar works from a pre-built index of prompts that covers Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot, so you can look up any brand's AI Mode visibility, a rival's included, with no setup. Custom prompts cost $50 a month for 2,500 checks across the platforms you pick, where one prompt on one platform uses one check (read 23 September 2026). Ahrefs Lite, at $129 a month, adds the SEO toolset, five tracked prompts, and API and MCP access, and the standalone index starts at $199 (read 28 September 2026). Cadence is set per platform.
Where it falls short: Ahrefs publishes three different starting figures depending on the route, Grok is not listed, and there is no trial.
8. AIclicks (best for picking AI Mode as one of three engines)
AIclicks' Starter costs $59 a month for 30 prompts, checked daily on three models (read 28 September 2026). ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini are the defaults, and any of them can be swapped for another of its 11 models, Google AI Mode, Copilot, Claude and Grok among them. A Google-heavy team could run AI Mode next to ChatGPT and one other engine. Five AI-written articles a month come with Starter, and the three-day trial needs no card. AIclicks was one of three tools AI Mode named for a B2B SaaS tracking question in our scans on 28 September 2026.
Where it falls short: AI Mode replaces one of the three defaults, so adding AI Overviews as well leaves one slot, and API, MCP and GA4 start on Pro at $189.
9. LLM Pulse (best for a weekly report with both Google surfaces)
LLM Pulse's Starter costs €49 a month with weekly checks, shown as $59, or €79 with daily checks (read 28 September 2026). AI Mode is in the base set with AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, so both Google surfaces come without an add-on, and each of the 50 prompts counts once however many engines run it. Claude, Grok and Copilot are add-ons. MCP is on every plan, and the 14-day trial on weekly plans needs a payment method.
Where it falls short: the entry price buys weekly data, and AI Mode answers change faster than that; daily checks cost €79.
10. Rankshift (best for AI Mode with API and MCP for a whole team)
Rankshift's Starter costs €77 a month, shown as $92, or €69 billed annually, for 150 prompts a day and 9,500 credits a month (read 28 September 2026). Every plan covers all nine engines in its calculator, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews among them, with ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot, Meta AI and Mistral, and refresh is daily or weekly. Most engines cost 2 credits a run and Claude and Copilot cost 5; our read did not confirm AI Mode's own credit cost, so check it in the calculator before you size a plan. API and MCP access, unlimited projects and unlimited seats come on every plan, and the 30-day trial needs no card.
Where it falls short: usage is metered in credits, AI Mode's credit price was not confirmed, Grok is not offered, and Search Console is not published.
11. Nightwatch (best for AI answers beside Google rankings)
Nightwatch's plans start at €79 a month billed yearly, and every plan tracks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Mode and AI Overviews daily (read 28 September 2026). It is also a Google rank tracker, and its AI answers sit in the same report as your Google positions, which suits a team that wants to see a keyword's blue-link rank and its AI Mode answer together. Professional, at €159 a month billed yearly, includes 150 AI prompts and 4,500 AI answers a month, with white-label reports and API access. The 14-day trial needs no card.
Where it falls short: billed yearly in euros, the AI prompt allowance on the entry plan was not on the pages we read, and Grok is not listed.
12. Peec AI (best for AI Mode with unlimited users)
Peec AI's Starter costs $95 a month, or $80 billed annually, for 50 prompts on three models chosen from ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI (read 29 September 2026). Checks are daily and users are unlimited. A team that cares mostly about Google can pick AI Mode and AI Overviews as two of the three; each extra model costs $35 a month on Starter.
Where it falls short: three models is tight once ChatGPT is added, and Claude and Grok are Enterprise only.
13. Promptwatch (best for AI Mode with Search Console, API and MCP)
Promptwatch's Essential costs $95 a month, or $950 a year, for 50 prompts checked daily on four models (read 28 September 2026). AI Mode is one of the 11 in its supported-models table, with AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Grok. Every brand plan includes Google Search Console, and API and MCP access come with Essential, so AI Mode results can sit next to your Search Console data in your own reports. The 7-day trial covers Essential and Professional.
Where it falls short: AI Mode takes one of four model slots, the page does not say how the four are chosen, Copilot is not listed, and Essential has one seat.
14. Rankability (best for agencies tracking AI Mode)
Rankability's pricing page, read on 29 September 2026, names Google AI Mode among the engines it tracks, with AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Grok, Copilot and Meta AI, and its Google AI Mode rank tracker page was the first result for "google ai mode rank tracker" when we checked the search on 16 October 2026. Its tracker pages, read that day, list Starter at $97 a month with 100 tracked AI queries, Agency at $297 with 300 and Agency Pro at $497 with 500, with 11 AI platforms, unlimited client workspaces, and API and MCP access. Scans run daily, weekly or on a custom schedule.
Where it falls short: on 29 September 2026 its pricing page showed a single plan at $497 a month on a 12-month agreement, so confirm which terms apply before you sign.
15. SE Visible by SE Ranking (best for the most daily AI Mode prompts at entry)
SE Visible's Basic plan costs $99 a month, or $79 billed annually, for 200 prompts on ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode, Perplexity and AI Overviews, refreshed daily (read 28 September 2026). That is the largest daily prompt allowance at entry on this list, enough to track a buyer's first question and two or three follow-ups for each of 50 topics. The trial runs 10 days. SE Ranking also sells an AI Overviews tracker inside its SEO platform, covered in the best AI Overviews rank trackers.
Where it falls short: Claude is listed as coming rather than live, Grok and Copilot are not covered, and no MCP was found.

Other tools that list AI Mode
These name AI Mode but missed one of our tests, as read on 25, 28 or 29 September 2026. AthenaHQ's Starter, $295 a month for 3,600 credits across 11 models, includes AI Mode, but no check frequency is published, and its free tier's five engines leave AI Mode out. Gauge's Growth plan, $599 a month, tracks AI Mode with five other engines, with no check frequency on the pages we read. Scrunch and Writesonic keep AI Mode for Enterprise, and Profound lists it among up to nine engines on its custom-priced Enterprise plan. Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit names "Google AI" without saying whether that includes AI Mode. Trakkr does not track AI Mode. ProRankTracker, Superlines, Dageno, seoClarity, BrightEdge and other names in the lists that rank for this search were not checked against their own pages for this note.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Google AI Mode rank tracker?
For AI Mode checked daily as its own result, apart from AI Overviews, with ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok and Search Console included, Cituna at $39 a month, the lowest price among the fifteen here that is not metered in credits and has no AI Mode add-on or slot (read 29 September 2026). For a few checks on the smallest budget, Keyword.com from $9.80 or Rankscale at $20. For trackers ranked across all seven engines, see the 10 best AI visibility tools.
Is tracking AI Mode different from tracking AI Overviews?
Yes. AI Overviews appear inside normal results; AI Mode is a separate conversational mode, and Google says the two may use different models and show different links. In our scans their top-five cited sites differed beyond YouTube and Reddit. A tracker that reports them as one "Google AI" line hides that difference.
Does Search Console show AI Mode separately?
No. Its Generative AI performance report counts AI Mode impressions together with AI Overviews, by page, country, device and date, with no queries or clicks. A prompt tracker is the only way to see AI Mode on its own.
Can a tracker follow AI Mode's follow-up questions?
None of the pricing pages we read says its AI Mode check runs a second turn. Track each follow-up your buyers ask as a separate prompt, and ask the vendor how its check is run.
